I paid $300 for this model on Amazon in April 2023. It was only used in 3 season mode, if that, and we diligently cleaned the filter. Well the compressor just went out. No warranty of course after a year and to fix it is the price of a new unit. I'd never buy a GE or Haier product ever again. When you call for any attempts to get a replacement or at least a discount for the next unit, all you get is an automated/AI bot that weaponizes incompetence by not understanding your responses. Welcome to the 21st century, consumer.

Pump does not work.

The dehumidifier works very well. The pump makes a lot of noise but does not empty the bucket. My older model was able to empty bucket pumping to my outdoor drain which is about 4 foot above my basement. The new unit I bought does not work pumping to my drains and does not wvwn empty into a bucket 3 foot below the unit!

Can I give less than one star? First one would not stay running. Always had to turn it on when I came down in the basement. They replaced it and now this one runs all the time and my electricity bill went up 80 bucks a month. The "smart" setting doesn't seem so smart. BUT it was working and pump worked as well. Until now. I get P1 error no matter what. Now I have it lifted on top of my washer and I will use a hose on the outlet to drain until I can get a replacement. Something NOT GE

Don't Buy - Poor Quality and Won't Lst Long

As a formal GEHC employee, I am keeping going back to buy GE products. But unfortunately, my GE Dehumidifier 50 pints failed multiple times on me. The latest two had same problem. When initially plugged in, the humility level was set at 40 with actual reading at 65. They will run but absolutely no water was collected then just stopped running after a few moment. I repeated over a number of days with same result. This is so frustrated and might be my last attempt on GE.

2nd Dehumidifier as Unreliable as the 1st

First unit failed in less than a year, replacement unit of same model failed 2 years later (July 2024) - pump failure so I now have to empty water bucket manually. GE provided a courtesy "Certificate of Good Will Rebate" of $75 towards purchase of another GE product. Considering the original price of the unit of $336 I sure do not think I got my money's worth out of this product. Not reliable as the GE products we used to own. In addition there are no parts available to purchase to repair the product, I hoped that I would be able to purchase a replacement pump with my Good Will Rebate.

this is the second one Iven owned. First was returned to Home Depot because the pump stopped working and the second one that was an even exchange the pump stopped working as well. I've reset the entire dehumidifier cleaned lines reattached line and started the pump, everything seemed to go back to normal but upon checking it the bucket was full of water!? what is going on.

We have a large finished basement and our old dehumidifier had quit working and the humidity was up to 80, with this new GE the humidity was down to 50 in less than 48 hours. In fact within a couple hours was down to 65 at both ends of the room. Our room is approximately 28™€™x48™€™ I really like the pump so the water is being discharged outside. Thanks GE

Much quieter and more efficient than the dehumidifier it has replaced. I especially like the fact that it has an outlet for a standard garden hose attachment that allows it to drain continuously without having to empty a catchment bucket. In my case, the hose goes to a through-wall hose bib so all condensation drains outside the building.

Disappointed in GE warranty

I™€™m really disappointed in the purchase. This ran so well, I™€™ve had it for 10 months and the coils inside are rusted everywhere. Thankfully, I™€™m still in the 1-yr warranty period. However, GE will not provide a replacement in a standard manner. They want you to purchase another GE item. They will mail you a ™€œgoodwill certificate™€ in 10 business days. Then you mail them a copy of the new item receipt with the goodwill certificate. When they receive the mailed certificate and copy of your new receipt, they will mail a refund check in 6-8 weeks of only the original product price from a year ago (taxes are not refundable). So this process will take up to 10 weeks. I would rather a replacement item be shipped out and they can cover shipping to take the defective item back. Hanging on to it is a waste because I need to now go pay $25 to dump the dehumidifier in our city, plus losing what I spent on taxes on the first item, and paying over $50 more this year for the same item before taxes doesn™€™t reflect typical warranty processes that other companies put in place. I™€™m basically losing $125, so the warranty really is prorated. I wish I would have looked into more reviews before purchasing, but who would think a GE product would fail so quickly. Seriously? You expect these products to last because GE is a quality brand.

Good enough to keep it/not return it, gets the job done. Definitely worth getting the pump, as without the pump, the bucket fills up in 2-3 days. Unit is very loud. The humidity sensor is not terribly precise. But, setup/install was quick and easy, wheels make it easy to move around.
