Design flaw

I purchased this oven in July 2017. I loved it until it started shutting down due to "keyboard error" in 2025. It seems to happen when I'm using both ovens, or when the top door opens and steam hits the control panel. All of my other kitchen appliances are KA but I'm not sure I'll buy another KA wall oven, IDK, is it unreasonable to expect a oven to last at least 10 years.

I bought this oven a month ago and have had repair service out two times. An issue with the lower oven closed door mechanics. Oven will not reach temperature and oven lights will not turn off. Attempt three this week. Hopeful it will be fixed.

We replaced a Thermador, and we absolutely love our new Kitchenaid oven. It heats up very quick. It™€™s very quiet, and the large glass viewing window allows you to see your dinner. We wish we changed it our years ago.

Somewhat Disappointed

After the last review, I was contacted and informed the review would not be posted. That didn™€™t surprise me. This oven has the same problem as our previous oven, which was just like it. It cooks warmer on the right side of the oven. I™€™m hoping that KitchenAid figures out what the problem is and solves it.

Too expensive to only have a one year warranty!

I built my house 6 years ago. All brand new kitchen aid appliances... all had to be replaced within 3 years. Warranty only good for 1 year. I paid way too much for the appliances to have such poor quality and service. So I replaced them all with different brands. I will never buy kitchen aid again. People have told me they used to be better and better warranties... not true anymore unfortunately.

Broke after 2.5 years

My double wall oven is only 2.5 years old, I used the Self Clean feature 1 time (because I hardly even use the bottom oven) and now the bottom oven will not heat up at all. For the price I paid for this you think it would be more durable.

Inconsistent heat

I bought this double wall oven to replace a similar Kitchenaide that we installed when we built our home 17 years prior. Was really satisfied with the old one. This one not so much. Ovens are slow to reach temperature and lose heat almost immediately. I have to continually reset the temps and use an oven thermometer or baked goods turn out poorly due to cooking at a cooler temp than set. I regret building a kitchen with wall ovens and a need to fit new appliances into the old appliance's wall space.

Very loud and slow to heat

I have not been happy with this oven and I have regretted this purchase and would probably never purchase another thing from KitchenAid. The oven is very loud. It takes forever to cool down and you are forced to listen to that fan. Many of my recipes suggest that I leave the door a jar for the last bit of cooking and you cannot do that with this oven! I honestly hate this thing and if I could get rid of it, I would.

Disappointed in Warranty

The oven does not work. We purchased in 2024 for our home we just built. It is installed and when I tried using for the first time it stopped working with error code, F8E0. With the extended warranty through Lowe™€™s we were told that there were no technicians in the area and refunded the amount we paid, $1700, since it was a floor model. Obviously this is not enough to purchase another, so we are currently without a working oven.

This double oven has looked nice and functioned well... until it didn't. 2 years after purchase and professional installation, we got an error code F8E0. This relates to the cooling fan. We had the installer/servicer out to take a look. A nearby customer JUST had the same code on the same oven. They replaced the blower and sensor assembly with no luck. They did some other second repair with no luck. They tried to talk to Kitchenaid about it but didn't get any helpful information. Now, they are offering to come and replace the blower/sensor assembly at a cost of $500 and aren't sure if it will fix the issue.

A few shortcomings

First, I would buy it again. What isn™€™t so great is grease gets between the glass panels and at 75 years old, how do you expect me to clean it? The lighting is terrible. Lastly, the convection option never worked. A lesser issue, the interior depth was deceiving in that I was counting on my cookie sheets fitting vertically and I need an extra half inch for that to happen.

Unreliable operation

We™€™ve had unit for one year now and have had issues with the unit. Temperature control is variable so cooking takes some quess work. One time when the door was opened to do a food check, a surge a steam can out of the oven and caused the electronic screen to malfunction which made over unusable for a period of time.

I have had my double oven for a year and really like it. I agree with other reviews that it takes about 15 minutes to pre-heat, but that fact is stated in the User Manual. I really like the easy-glide shelf. The oven does a great job of evenly baking items.

The warranty repairman has been out 4 times and the oven is still not repaired and continues to display error messages and shut off. You don™€™t realize how important it is to have a reliable oven until you don™€™t have one. I don™€™t think I™€™ve left a review before but this item merits it. Beware.

So Much Space!

Great oven with so much room for everything! We have had this oven for about 6 months and are very happy with it. Controls are easy to use, and food cooks evenly in all parts of the oven. Our favorite feature is the broiler, which is large and works quickly for both ovens. Before ordering this I was concerned that maybe it was too big, but it is perfect for someone who does a lot of cooking/baking. Can't wait to host Thanksgiving!

We remodeled our kitchen four years ago. My daughter had just built a new house and put in that same KA double oven, which I got to see at her house as well as at Lowe's before we bought it. I have ALWAYS wanted a double oven and I absolutely love it that they are identical. I use the upper one more, I suppose because it's so convenient but the lower one is just as convenient. I make bread and absolutely love the proofing feature--it works beautifully! (that is something my daughter doesn't do!). But honestly- it's great having 2 ovens. Sometimes, baking cookies, I use both ovens just to get them done sooner. And of course, with the holidays approaching, I know I'll be using both ovens for special meals and hosting dinners, etc. I also love that BOTH ovens are "True Convection" and both have all the same features. I like to broil seafood and the salmon turns out fabulous! The previous kitchen in this house had all Kitchen Aid gourmet appliances and we reused the range hood which was 18 years old (now 22) and still looks very current and classy. I would ABSOLUTELY recommend this to a friend, and though I sure hope I don't move for a long time, if I had to remodel another kitchen I would absolutely want this same double oven. It is fantastic.

have had 2 service calls already and this si the second oven- the first one blew up after being in my home for 3 weeks- literally the glass blew out- on THANKSGIVING> then replaced (sadly with the same oven) and this one has NEVER worked- was told to "ignore" the convection as "it never works right and we don't even repair that" and now we are on motherboard replacement #2- please whatever you do- DONT BUY THIS OVEN- wish someone had told me this... #stuckwitha$4000lemon

Heat is inconsistent

I have had this double-oven for a year now. It does not heat as well as my last one and it vents a great deal of heat into our kitchen. Makes for a warm, sweaty cooking experience. We have found that cooking things at the recipe temp for the recipe time leaves baked goods undone in the middle and meats undercooked.

We love our new oven it really looks great. Have only used it a few times since we have only had it a month or so (totally redesigned our kitchen). It seems bigger than our old gas range. Love the three racks and especially the one with the rollers and slides. I goes in and out so easily. The oven has convection and a meat thermometer features plus some others we have not tried out yet. Looking forward to trying them. So far everything is working well. We have had kitchen aid appliances before and are expecting long life and reliability
